Sign the petition: Equality today!

We’re 103 days into the New Year.

This day is important because it marks the day when women “catch-up” to what their male counterparts made last year. Sadly, that’s because women still are not paid the same as men for equal work.

Even though state and federal laws prohibit employers from paying men and women doing the same job differently, the wage gap continues to persist regardless of industry, occupation, or education level.

And, as more and more women are the primary breadwinner in their family, that means less money to pay rent, put food on the table, or save for a child’s college education.

Let’s stand together on Equal Pay Day. Sign the Petition: Tell Congress that women deserve equal pay for equal work!

And, there’s plenty we can do, including:

Passing the Paycheck Fairness Act to extend wage transparency and anti-retaliation protections to all workers in the U.S., and require employers to prove a legitimate, nondiscriminatory reason for paying a woman less.

Enacting family friendly workplace standards like paid sick days, paid family leave, affordable childcare, and predictable scheduling, which will result in higher wages for women over time and make it easier for mothers to stay and advance in their jobs.

Ensuring ample access to reproductive health care including fully funding Title X family planning programs and repealing the Hyde Amendment so women can pursue education and career opportunities that result in increased wages over time.

Too many families are being held back by wage discrimination. Please add your name to join me in standing up for equality today!

Thank you,
