Keep Elon Musk’s hands off our elections

The Trump administration has been busy with trade wars, blatant corruption, and authoritarian attacks on democracy – Elon Musk would like to keep it that way. Musk recently announced that he plans to spend $100 million in the November midterms.

No one person should have the power or resources to influence elections like that. Like Trump, Musk is only looking out for his bottom line, and he'll throw any amount of money around to sway opinions and keep his party in the majority.

He's desperate for favorable tax laws, big government contracts, and special exceptions for his businesses.

But we can reject this kind of outside money in politics with grassroots support and grassroots action. The fight to flip the House is happening now. Chip in what you can and join our effort to put a check on rogue, unelected billionaires like Elon Musk.

This is not what Oregonians or Americans want or need. They want checks and balances and transparent campaign finance laws. They do not want a system that allows one man to spend hundreds of millions of dollars to exert power over the will of the people.

Elon Musk should keep his money out of our elections.
