The fight for democracy is happening in Texas

Donald Trump and congressional Republicans said they were going to lower costs, but instead they cut healthcare and food assistance and gave tax breaks to their billionaire buddies. Now they realize that they can't win on these unpopular policies, so they are trying to cheat by drawing partisan redistricting plans, starting with Texas.

After Donald Trump demanded that Texas redraw their state maps to help Republicans win five new seats, Democrats were forced to take the drastic step of breaking quorum to stop the state legislature from passing a new gerrymandered map.

This is without a doubt an attempt by Donald Trump and congressional Republicans to steal the 2026 midterm elections.
