Really bad things you might not know about in the Big Bad Bill: Part 2
For good reason, there has been a lot of discussion about the cuts to Medicaid, Medicare, and food assistance in the Republican's Big Bad Bill – cuts that are in the bill to pay for tax breaks that benefit corporations and the wealthy. But there are several other very harmful provisions that are in the partisan 1,118 page bill the House passed in the middle of the night by only one vote.
There is a section in the Big Bad Bill that would let the administration get away with lawless behavior – and there has been plenty. If the bill that passed the House becomes law and a court orders the Trump administration to stop deportation without due process, for example, it is likely that the administration could ignore the order without consequences.
This is the equivalent of a get-out-of-jail-free card! Hundreds of court orders could be rendered meaningless and unenforceable.
