Really bad things you might not know about in the Big Bad Bill: Part 1

For good reason, there has been a lot of discussion about the cuts to Medicaid, Medicare, and food assistance in the Republican's Big Bad Bill – cuts that are in the bill to pay for tax breaks that benefit corporations and the wealthy. But there are several other very harmful provisions that are in the partisan 1,118 page bill the House passed in the middle of the night by only one vote.

Tucked in to the bill is a provision that bars states from enforcing laws governing AI for ten years – an entire decade!

You might hear the argument that we can't have 50 different standards, and a national policy makes more sense, but there is no national policy right now! If this language stays in the bill, it will be AI chaos with no regulation of privacy and security for the next ten years.

There's a chance to stop this policy because the bill has not yet passed the Senate. Please raise your voices and contact your Senators!

Thank you for standing with me,

Suzanne
