We're kicking off our 2020 campaign!

It's been more than eight years since I was first elected to Congress, and a lot has changed in that time. With the election of President Trump in 2016, many of us have felt like things were hopeless.

But we didn't give up. We stepped up, spoke out, and organized. And in 2018 we fought back. The Democrats won the House, electing the most diverse new class to Congress. From day one, we've passed progressive priorities to create a better future for our country. Those include:

  • A sweeping democracy reform bill to address campaign finance, voting rights, and partisan gerrymandering.
  • Bipartisan legislation to require universal background checks.
  • A comprehensive bill to lower the cost of prescription drugs.
  • Bold legislation to increase the federal minimum wage to $15 an hour.

We made a lot of progress this past year, and I've been especially proud to lead on some key issues in the House:

  • Speaker Pelosi appointed me to the Select Committee on the Climate Crisis, which will soon release a bold, comprehensive climate plan.
  • As the Chair of the Education Committee's Civil Rights and Human Services Subcommittee, I pushed forward an agenda that includes: protecting pregnant workers from discrimination; supporting seniors through the updated Older Americans Act, which funds programs like Meals on Wheels; and making sure women, especially women of color, finally earn equal pay for equal work.
  • We addressed the student loan crisis, which is burying many young people and families in mountains of debt by helping those in the Public Service Loan Forgiveness program who are not getting what they were promised.
  • I stood up to Secretary Devos to hold her accountable for her harmful policies that put transgender students at risk.

It's been a busy year, but we have a lot more to do.

That's why I'm proud to officially announce that I'm running again in 2020. I can't do this alone – there is so much at stake this year, and I'm asking for your support to make sure we win big in November.

Join me! Make a donation and help us jumpstart our 2020 campaign.

Everything helps and your support means a lot.

With appreciation,

Suzanne
