America's promise

America promises our people equality and opportunity for all – regardless of gender, race, religion, or sexual orientation. President Obama was absolutely right to stand up for all Americans during his State of the Union Speech.

He’s correct: we are strongest when we join together – not tear ourselves apart. Polarizing statements are destructive to our progress, and it’s critical that our leaders respect America’s foundation of tolerance and acceptance. Bigotry and racism have no place in our nation – especially in our presidential race.

We need to work together so our children and grandchildren will have a nation where every American has nutritious food, healthcare, and an equal opportunity needed to get ahead. Those are the values that inspired me to run for Congress and motivate me to work my hardest for you every day.
